About our school

My name is Kevin Kawada and my wife's name is Renee Kawada. We started this kung fu schhool in March of 2004. We have 2 children. Our daughter is 10 years old and is a yellow belt. Her name is Kaitlyn Kawada and she trains at the school daily. Our son is just 2 years old and is not yet old enough to train.

The Las Vegas Kung Fu Academy is a family owned and operated business. We are a small school with a small staff. We are not a franchise. The advantage of being such a small school is that all of our students get very personalized instruction and attention.

The atmosphere at our school is a serious one. We have high expectations of our students. I expect home practice and a love of the martial arts. We are not the type of school you would want to enroll in if you are just looking for some kind of activity for your child. We are not a daycare center or babysitters. Before deciding to join our family here at the Las Vegas Kung Fu Academy, you need to decide what kind of expereience you are looking for. We are not a MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) school. We do not enter our students into the Ultimate Fighting Championships. Instead we are a very traditional school that teaches in a very traditional way. If this is the type of enviornment you are looking for then this is the right school for you.

See what we are all about, simply fill out the online information request form and a instructor will contact you within 24 hours. We will make sure to take the time to speak with you about what you want to gain from martial arts specifically. We also make it a point to make sure you are comfortable with our staff as well as our studio.
