Our first goal at our school is to teach great martial arts.
However, we have some secondary goals as well. One of these goals is to change the culture of young millenniums form one of apathy and uncaring to one of caring for others.
This is the hardest lesson for young people is to learn personal accountability. Realizing that your actions and behaviors affect other people.
We started a campaign in our school to try and get kids to learn how good it feels to be kind.
The Random Acts of Kindness calendar we assigned had 20 days of small but challenging assignments for kids.
For example: on day 10 our students were to do yard work for a neighbor and on day 12 they had to let the person in line behind you go first.
Challenging kids to do a small act of daily kindness will teach them that everyone has to do a little bit, play their part in changing our society.
