In the Sil Lum Fut Gar Style of Kung Fu you entire body becomes a weapon. The principle behind this movement is first to evade the strike then to use your root to blast through the opponent.
Your connection to the ground can be transferred through your body into the the shoulders which is the part of your body where you contact the opponent.
However, you can also strike the groin at the same time that you enter for the body check, then follow up with an upward elbow strike. The Sil Lum Fut Gar Style does not have rules like boxing or judo, but rather focus on movements you can use for pure self defense.
